My daughter’s fish died today, not quite sure how. We changed the water regularly and we're always sure to add the water conditioner. Feed him as directed, but for some reason over the past weeks he seemed to be a little on the lethargic side. I think my daughter knows he’s dead but I’m almost certain for a four year old she doesn't’t really grasp the complete concept of death.
I decided to remove him from the tank tonight while she was asleep. In the morning I will tell her he went home to be with Jesus. I believe its better this way, speaking from experience. I had a pet Ferret that I had to euthanize back in 2004 just 2 days shy of my birthday. It really hurt to have to take him to the Vet knowing he was'nt’t coming back with me. Oko was my buddy, I got him when he was a pup and shared some really good times with him. But it was the best thing for him; he was very sick, would'nt’t eat and lost all his fur.
