"Heeeeyyyyy mon, its a wonderful thing. Just listen to me. This ting" she said pointing her fingers at her chest. At first I wasn't sure what she was getting at other than why is she pointing her fingers at that part of her body.
I was at the nursing home and started chatting with one of the staff as the entertainment news was on. There was a picture of the guy from the bachelor show on.
"Do you know who that guy is?" I asked the nurse.
"Who? Him? What are you talking about mon?" The nurse is jamaican. That's why she speaks that way.
"Thats the guy from the bachelor show the other night. Did you hear what he did?"
"Oh yeah, I was just flippin through the channels and happened to catch it on the tube. He's the one who proposed to the two women. One day after another."
"Yeah, imagine that, the guy tells the one woman that it was the first time that he could tell her that he loved her. Then the next day change his mind go to the second woman whom he sent home and tell her she's the one he loves."
Just then another nurse jumped into the conversation.
"Lei! You watched that show? I can't believe that." she giggled.
The jamaican nurse jumped back in. "Well I'm glad that that man realized his true feelings. Love is a wonderful thing. When it happens you can feel it right here." Pointing to her chest again.
"I tell you Lei, god did a wonderful thing for us and let us feel this love. You know it when they are the one" the nurse kept telling to me.
"You know" I said to her. "I just found out there's a church for sale in my friends neighborhood. You should buy it. Then you can become a priest and spread the word as you are now."
Some people disappeared last week. My friends boyfriends father passed away during a time when her relationship was in turmoil. Gambit flew to Texas to be with his long time friend because his father had also died. My persian friend and his sister flew to Iran to visit his father who was admitted to hospital. How could three fathers all become very sick or die in a span of two weeks?
Let it be known that earlier today in China, the founder of this site (Sausalito) and his wife became proud parents of a baby boy. We wish Sausalito and his new family all the best. So despite losing a few bodies, we managed to gain one still. There is still a deficit however. This is an economics joke. har har.
Moving on, I celebrated my birthday this past weekend with a good friend of mine whose birthday is a few days after mine. We had reservations at Milestones in Yaletown for a group of 19 people. I remember having dinner at this restaurant a while ago with another friend of mine and being given a table near the back. During that time we talked about reserving the large glass dinner room at the back for some special occasion. That happened this weekend and it was a suprise as the restaurant originally had told me that the room was already reserved for another group. The food was good and the staff was quite obliging as no one pressured us to order our food faster given that we spent almost an hour just having drinks and chatting before most of our group had arrived. In the end, we hurried ourselves out so that we could make it to a local night club to make it on time for the guestlist entry.
I got some good pics from this evening but due to this sites current crippled state, I will not post any of the photos here.
I went out on valentines day for dinner with a friend. His girlfriend was away attending a wedding in Winnipeg and I am still single. We went to a japanese all-you-can-eat sukiyaki restaurant. The food was great and the really cute staff made dining out on valentines day much more pleasurable. I even ran into a couple I knew who were having their valentines dinner at the same restaurant.
I've rearranged the furniture. Slowly I've been getting rid of some clutter and now I have a new plant in the room beside the lamp in the corner. It's amazing what one plant can do to change the loop of the place if set up and placed right. I also inherited a new tv stand unit. Now the home theatre system and all my movies are all organized neatly instead of just sitting around on the floor.
On friday, the free whistler pass came in the mail. This was a surprise as I had thought that the airmiles program would have taken four months or more to send it to me. The snow awaits.
