1 Million Crystals |
Random Scribbling |
The cold air blows and with each push I become more tired. One shovel, two shovel, three shovel more. Each shovel adds up to the one million pieces of frozen ice crystals I move from one place to another. Piling it up higher and higher. Harder and harder that pile becomes. Colder and colder the mountain becomes. No sharp corners just one giant mass. I million pieces of frozen ice crystals keep falling all around.
I bought more road salt. In total I have purchased sixty kilograms. In the back of my truck it sits with a number of other heavy items. I'm also getting tired of my shovel. Really like its getting to be quite the workout making my arms feel tired everyday. According to the news, this will be the first white christmas since, since I was born! What does this mean? Will my life start all over again? A second life? I would like it to be. To new and better things! To a whole new wonderful life! Wait, its not new years yet. Ahhh so what. A toast!

Stay the Course, Rice in hand. |
Life |
The element didn't glow bright orange but you could feel the heat sneaking through the seam between the lid and the pot. Slowly filling the air with the clean scent of fresh rice.
I tried to make rice today in a saucepan instead of a rice cooker. I don't know how people do it and I'm feeling too lazy to google the technique. I look down at my fingers on the keyboard and in my mind I'm pleading with them. "Moooove... mmmmoooooooove... type some words and hit enter damn it!". I am helpless. After today, I will go back to using the old tried and true automatic rice cooker. Cause it'll come out right each time with that clean fresh taste. No soy sauce is required.
Many months have passed since the last entry. In fact one year. Most recently I've tried to spend part of that time playing with my friends SONY PSP handheld game system. I am partway through the MotoGP world championship race circuit having conquered Monza, Silverstone, and the one in the Netherlands as well as Spain. I found that to be successful in the game I had read the track as though I were on a real motorcycle traveling at high speeds. Not that I've ever done that. (*Cough!Cough!*) Anyways, what I mean is to look far down the track and begin the turn before you even get to it. That means making the change in direction as smooth as possible, carrying as much speed through the curve as possible too. Watching the little track progress diagram on the left side of the screen resulted in reacting to the upcoming set of turns too late or too early on many occasions. One should always just keep ones eyes on the course in front of them looking farther ahead the faster one goes.
I will make another attempt to revive this site. With software in hand already for those who used to blog here I had attempted to update this site but stopped halfway through fearing the great complexity of... SQL database setup and this movable types software. During this time I have already started up a new site using wordpress and other features. Words are flashing. Links are linking. Database is being databased. It's running pretty good but the goal and content of that site is a little bit different. However the success of that site is yet to be determined as it is only in its infancy being barely one and a half months old. Then there's facebook. I need to stop using it. I will stop. Really.
The other day I contacted someone who had read this blog some years ago and has a hepatitis C blog. Once again I am too lazy to switch to the other internet browser which has full blog text formatting support (not sure why mozilla doesn't support it) so I would rather just type the following. Please go to the list of links below or to the right of this page and click on "ron metcalfe's hep C blog". After seeing his email I am glad to say that he is cured of his disease and living a healthy normal life. Congradulation's to him on his triumph!
Uh oh. Behind is the sound of rice boiling over onto the stove. I'm making congee now.
