There are some good deals to be had at the Luxor. Both at the tables and in the room rates. It seems to have fallen behind in popularity abit after being dwarfed by the much larger and newer Mandalay Bay. But luckily for them, they and the other hotels on their side of the strip are apparently now one single group. Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, New York New York and Monte Carlo all allow you to gamble on the one card system to rack up points and benefits.
When I was looking for a place to book, I found that the Luxor and Monte Carlo had the best last minute rates. I've seen both and they're both steals compared to the lower class hotels which charge more. At least they did at the time I was looking.
The interior of the Luxor is still great and the rooms are nice. Marble tiles everywhere and Egyptian decore. It's hard for this style to look outdated. A lot more which can be said for than Bally's down in the middle of the strip. They need a major redo in my opinion. Here are some photos of the large structures inside the main entrance to the Luxor hotel.

The Princess or Queen maybe is protected by the Ram or god of the evening sun? I'll have to check my research. How fitting though as the main feature of this black pyramid is the evening entertainment in the casino.

Notice the sceptre known as Ankh which is being held in the womans hand. It represents eternal life.
